Porsche Carrera Cup Red Bull Ring: weekend in two speeds for D'leteren Luxury Performance
Held at Austria's Red Bull Ring, where the weather conditions were
already as delicate as they were changeable, was the fifth round
of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux 2024 for all the teams
particularly complicated and complex. With two poles and already
as many podium finishes, D'leteren Luxury Performance remains in
the running for capturing the various titles in the leading up to
the final races on October 11, 12 and 13 on the circuit of
Zolder...
On a Red Bull Ring he discovered for the first time, Kobe Pauwels
began the weekend with only one goal: to maintain his lead
maintained in the Rookie championship. “It was incredibly
delicate, with conditions changing all the time. No ideal
situation to find landmarks on a track that was completely new to
me,” Kobe analyzed. “Saturday we got in Race 1 the worst
conditions of the whole weekend. The was quickly clear to me that
it was necessary to avoid at all costs being stranded in the
sandbox, or damaging the car. Sunday, on the other hand, I was
able to concentrate on Sam Jongejan, my main opponent in the
championship. And by finishing fifth overall, and especially then
second in the class, while he had to retire, my mission was
successful. Nothing is won beforehand, but at Zolder we will
continue to fight to reach our goal and we can take full advantage
of our lead of 27.5 points within the championship. The title can
fall into our hands from the arrival of Race 1 on Saturday...”
